Only 4 PAX dared to brave the rain for today’s special unveiling of “Big Bertha”. Standing in at 4’6 tall and weighing a whopping 482 lbs (unofficial) and making her first appearance on the F3Lutz FOP (field of pain), Bertha was ready to dish out the punishment (and boy did she). A lengthy disclaimer, much mumble about the new addition and we were off…

HOOK THE CHAINS ONTO BERTHA ITS TIME FOR SOME TRACTOR PULLS
- Each team pairs up on a chain and off we go…All the way to the other end of the FOP, across and back. The FOP was flooded and the wake created by Bertha was enough to warrant a comment by YHC that this should be a “No Wake Zone”. Great teamwork here as everyone was pushing themselves to keep her moving.
- ONE MORE ROUND OF TUG OF WAR WAS DECLARED TO DETERMINE A CHAMPION
- ***Congrats to DBA and Endo as they took the title
- It’s not over yet though as the PAX felt encouraged to return to Bertha, and not only reduce the number of pullers to 3, but to have the 4th PAX ride along on the back of Bertha. 4 Rotations – 1 PAX each was all it took for Bertha to make it to the other side. Approx. 690lbs being pulled by only 3 PAX during this exercise was extraordinary.
- Exhausted but not out, Bertha demanded more from us and so we obliged.
- INDIAN ROLL – (similar to indian run) each PAX rolls Bertha upright 5 to 6 pushes then sprints to the back while the next PAX jumps in and performs the same never allowing her to stop. All the way down the field and back though the gate to her final resting place.
- QUICK CLEAN UP AND SPRINT BACK TO THE COURTS FOR A 5 BURPEE FINALE

- Definitely something new today for us and glad to see the look of excitement on everyones face when they saw Bertha.
- 3 PAX did an hour pre-beatdown ruck in the rain and still managed to finish strong!
