THE THANG

Decided to try something new today and a small team competition was planned. Since only 5 PAX were present, YHC was going to modify the planned beatdown by having everyone do one of the workout plans but a challenge was issued by Vanellope and Grouper to take on the old guys. With that said, it was on.

Team 1: Grouper, Vanellope

Team 2: Endo, No-See-Um, Apnea,

YHC gave Team 1 first choice of which workout plan to select (index card 1 or 2).

The first set of exercises was performed all together in the parking lot:

All PAX started in plank while YHC sprinted back to the courts to get a second flashlight so each team could actually read the card along the way.

We started with approximately 60 seconds of plank, 30 seconds of side plank -right, 30 seconds of side plank – left, rotated onto our six for 50 seconds of 6” feet off the ground (each PAX calling out a 10 count)

Endo rearranged the numbers in his count which threw No-See-Um and YHC off on their counts.

5 burpees to finish.

YHC (and team 2) said See you later to Team 1 and we were all off in opposite directions.

Each card stated where to go and what exercises to complete.

TEAM 1: PARKING LOT –> DEAD END ROUNDABOUT (MOSEY ALONG LONG LAKE RANCH BLVD) –> MOORHEN LAKE ENTRANCE GATE (DOWN THE STREET FROM NO-SEE-UM’S HOUSE) –> MOSEY TO LAKE BRIDGE –> MOSEY TO BEAUTYBERRY LAKE ENTRANCE GATE –> MOSEY TO DOCK (This route was about 200 feet longer than the other route)

TEAM 2: PARKING LOT –> MAIN ROUNDABOUT (THEN MOSEY ALONG NATURE VIEW DRIVE) –> BEAUTYBERRY LAKE ENTRANCE GATE (JUST PAST APNEA’S HOUSE) –> MOSEY TO LAKE BRIDGE –> MOSEY TO MOORHEN LAKE ENTRANCE GATE RAMP –> MOSEY TO DOCK

Exercises at each location

DEADEND/MAIN ROUNDABOUT – 10 Squats at each line and bear crawl in between.

BEAUTYBERRY LAKE ENTRANCE GATE (JUST PAST APNEA’S HOUSE) – 1 Set of BRUCE LEES and 20 Box Cutters

LAKE BRIDGE – 10 Walking lunges per leg, Bear Crawl to Half way across bridge, 10 Walking Lunges per leg, Bear Crawl to End

MOORHEN LAKE ENTRANCE RAMP – 10 Squats, 10 Bobby Hurleys, 10 Split Jacks, 10 Plank Jacks, 10 Rosalitas

DOCK – 25 Irkins, 30 Step-ups TOTAL, 25 Derkins, 25 Wide Merkins, 5 Burpees

Team 1 tried signaling Team 2 from across the lake with the flashlight but Team 2 stayed quiet or at least tried to (YHC fumbled with the light trying to read the card on the lake path).

Both teams cleared each end of the lake bridge of spider webs and assorted bugs before crossing and ran into each other somewhere in the middle.

At this point, both teams stepped it up.

Team 2 beat Team 1 to the dock but Team 1 beat Team 2 in completing the exercises at the dock.

Congratulations to Team 1

Wosey (walking mosey) back to the road followed by a mosey to the courts for a quick round of Mary to finish off the beatdown.

Vanellope: 10 Burpees

Grouper: 10 Split Jacks

No-See-Um: 10 Star Jacks

Endo: 13 Sweat Angels (IC)

Apnea: 13 Box Cutters (IC)

Vanellope: 10 Freddie Mercuries (IC)

Grouper: 15 Flutter Kicks (IC)

No-See-Um: 10 Dollies (IC)

Right at 6:15 Endo called out one last “exercise” IC (which YHC can’t remember) but it was equivalent to lay where you are.

All PAX complied.

Great effort by all PAX today.
