YHC was planning to come to the Monday BD at the District as he normally does, but really was not looking forward to any kind of moseying. At 7:00 last night, the Q was still open so he thought to himself, “what is the best way to make sure any moseying is done slowly?” And that is how the Monday block party came to be.
At 5:30 AM on an 80 degree Monday, YHC and his block, found himself alone. Knowing Apnea was on his way, a light jog was started when Hooker came rolling in. The two of us started a warm up.
All in cadence:
- Tappity Tap Tap
- Shoulder Burners (in a held squat)
- Wing Flap
- Seal Clap
- Overhead Clap
- Baby Arm Circles
- Reveres Baby Arm Circles
Apnea joined us at the end and we were on the the thang.
The Thang, part 1:
We picked up our blocks to slowsey to the hill, but when we reached the corner we stopped to do 25 flutter kicks, the hard way, while holding our blocks up. We then continued to the hill and did the following:
- Rifle carry to the top of the hill
- Two Blockees
- Rifle carry to the bottom of the hill
- 10 Block pull throughs (ew)
- 20 Block Derricks (ew)
- 30 Block Squats
- Repeat for 5 total rounds
Once done, we slowsied toward the starting point, stopping once again for 25 Dolly Partons with our blocks in the air. We carried our blocks to the second tree in front of the little retaining wall and stopped for a quick sip before moving on to part 2.
The Thang, part 2:
With the retaining wall to help us, and a lot less time than planned, we did the following:
- 5 Dips
- 10 BBS
- 15 Box Jumps
- Mosey to Block
- 2 Blockees
- Mosey on back
- Repeat for 4 total rounds
After all PAX crushed the work out, we had a few seconds to spare and through in a couple burpees.
Prayers for Apnea’s parents as they prepare to move down to Florida. Prayers to all PAX traveling back from vacations. Prayers for Big Papi and that his ankle heals quick. Prayers for Endo and a successful recovery. And finally, prayers to all PAX who have 2.0’s starting school soon.
