QIC: ENDO
PAX POSTED: ENDO, HAKA, VANELLOPE, NO-SKI, DBA, APNEA, NEEDLES, ROCKWELL, SPONGEBOB

It was beyond the perfect morning here at the Gloom and several PAX were out and about rucking and running for the August challenge prior to the beatdown.  9 PAX eventually made it to the courts both mentally and physically prepared for a beatdown.  All that is except for YHC, as a shoulder injury suffered during the week was limiting himself to just 1 available arm to use.  Surprised more PAX did not post with the rumors floating around that a famous actor/comedian would be making a special appearance this morning.  Anywho, the flag was planted, disclaimer was given and the men of F3 Lutz began…

PLUGGING IN THE MACHINE:

  • SSH  –  X20  –  IC
  • FRANKENSTEIN  –  X10  –  IC
  • COTTON PICKER  –  X15  –  IC
  • SALUTE PLANKS  –  X10 (each arm)  –  OYO
  • BURPEE  –  X10  –  OYO

ON THE FIRST PULL:

  • MOSEY ENTIRE LAP AROUND DOG PARK AND TENNIS COURT
  • SQUATS  –  X25  –  OYO
  • MERKINS  –  X25  –  OYO
  • MOSEY ENTIRE LAP AROUND DOG PARK AND TENNIS COURT
  • SQUATS  –  X25  –  OYO
  • MERKINS  –  X25  –  OYO

At this point we took a quick recover for some water which YHC always loves to bring in the surprise cooler.  Sure enough, upon opening to get some well needed hydration, there was a little note inside that said “RINSE AND REPEAT!”.  Mosey, squats and merkins for 2 more rounds.

ON THE SECOND PULL:

  • MOSEY TO THE DEAD END
  • BURPEES  –  X10  –  OYO
  • RUN FORWARD TO FIRE HYDRANT
  • LBC  –  X50  –  OYO
  • RUN BACKWARDS TO BEGINNING
  • RINSE AND REPEAT FOR 15 MINUTES

Each PAX got in around 3 to 4 complete rotations before we circled up at the fire hydrant for some Silent 21 Challenge:

  • SSH  –  x21  –  IC (1st 3 reps only in cadence then silence to end)
  • ALL PAX MUST COME TO COMPLETE STOP WITH HANDS SMACKING SIDES SIMULTANEOUSLY AT ONCE
  • PENALTY FOR NOT ENDING IN UNISON  –  BURPEES  –  x10  –  OYO AND REPEAT CHALLENGE
  • 1ST ROUND WAS A SLIGHT BLUNDER BUT THE 2ND ROUND NAILED IT

After several inquiries into when this famous actor was going to make his appearance, YHC decided it was time to bring him out.  It was JOHN CANDY and he was introduced to the men.  A few PAX mentioned that he passed away several years ago to which YHC explained that he had been with us the entire beatdown spiritually and now it was time to introduce them to a new exercise that I created in his honor…THE JOHN CANDY!  Inspired by a classic movie The Great Outdoors where John Candy gets chased and stomped by a giant bear while screaming out “BIG BEAR, BIG BEAR CHASE ME”.

  • VERY SIMILAR TO AN INDIAN RUN, ONLY IN BEAR CRAWL FORMAT
  • ALL PAX LINE UP IN STRAIGHT LINE AND BEGIN BEAR CRAWL
  • LAST PAX GETS UP AND SPRINTS TO THE FRONT AND DROPS BACK DOWN TO BEAR CRAWL
  • REPEAT UNTIL WE REACHED THE ROUND ABOUT APPROX. 100 YDS

A jackpot prize was up for grabs to the first PAX that could explain why the exercise was named after John Candy.  Several got the movie correct however only Rockwell could get the saying correct.  The prize would be given out at the end of the beatdown.

THE FINAL PULL:

  • MOSEY BACK TO BB COURTS AND PARTNER UP
  • ALTERNATING SETS WHILE PARTNER RUNS AROUND DOG PARK
  • DIPS  –  X2 ROUNDS
  • FLUTTERKICKS  –  X2 ROUNDS
  • SQUATS  –  X2 ROUNDS
  • FINISH OFF WITH ALL PAX ON BB COURT
  • SPRINTS CORNER TO CORNER ALWAYS FACING THE MAIN PARKING LOT
  • SPRINT FORWARD, STRADDLE LEFT, RUN BACKWARDS, STRADDLE RIGHT  –  2 MINUTES TOTAL

THE JACKPOT:

YHC announced that the workout was complete (we really had 1 minute left though) and heard several gasps of relief from the exhausted PAX…until Rockwell was notified that he could claim his grand prize from earlier.  He was instructed to go open the top lid of the water cooler to claim it.  Upon doing so he found the grand prize note inside “BURPEES FOR EVERYONE”!!!

  • BURPEES (everyone)  –  X10  –  OYO

WORKOUT COMPLETE…THE 1 ARMED BANDIT WAS DONE PAYING OUT FOR THE DAY!!!

  • For those in the August challenge:
  • Total Distance  –  3.17 Miles
  • Total Merkins  –  100
  • Total Burpees  –  60  (if you completed 3 sets at the dead end, adjust accordingly if more or less)

COT:

  • Prayers for Needles interview and Endo’s M test results, that they both receive positive news on the 8th
  • Prayers for our injured brothers Dillio and NotoriousNYC that they get well and can come back
  • As always Haka’s SIL is in our hearts and the challenge this month has us pushing harder than ever in her honor

MOLESKIN:

The men were pushing harder than ever today, many gassed from the strong start to the August Challenge.  Spongebob will Q on the 11th here at F3 Lutz while we will get a true HC for the F3 Suncoast Invasion later in the week.  Pleasure as always leading you great men and providing some surprises along the way.  Apologies again for the modifications that had to be made by myself having only 1 good arm to work with today.
