How in the ruck…

QIC: Chowdah
PAX POSTED: Seltzer, Haka, Chowdah

The gloom brought a 47 degree morning at the boneyard. The fartsack was beckoning for YHC to stay warm and comfortable, but that was the exact thought that brought me to my feet. Leave behind the comfort and get out some tool to get uncomfortable. With the beatdown at the Ranch being a block beatdown, YHC wanted to make sure those at the Boneyard got the opportunity to get some weights in too. Rucks we called for the occasion.

Seltzer had the graces to give YHC a ride on his golf cart to the Boneyard. When pulling up one of the rucks on the backseat fell off and hit one of the tools (the Iron chest master) we’d soon find out it would need to be tampered with to get it working again. Haka was awaiting the beatdown and the three amigos of the boneyard needed no disclaimers, so we jumped into it.

Warm-Up:

  • 15 SSH (IC)
  • 15 Tappidy Tap taps (IC)
  • 15 Imperial walkers (IC)
  • Ruck around the boneyard (around dog parks and playground)

The Thang:

Ruck over to the workout station near the dog parks

  • 3 rounds, Weighted (ruck on), 20 reps per exercise; except for pull-ups
    • Merkins
      • The merkins were meant to be done with the Iron chest master but the ruck messed up the alignment and
    • Dips
    • BBS
    • LBCs
    • Rows
    • Pull-ups
      • 6 reps for two sets, max the last set

YHC decided to make it more confusing than it needed to be. We started with one station per PAX (one chest/tris, one back/bis, one abs) where each PAX would do the two exercises of the body region, realizing the muscle fatigue that we’d be more fresh switching after each set to the next body region. Over it was confusing but we got it done.

  • Ruck back around the playground to the boneyard; drop off rucksacks
  • circle up with 2 minutes
    • 5 Dog pissers (IC, HW)
      • On hands and knees, lift one leg out to the side (like a dog taking a piss). Alternate side the arm (at a 90 degree) gets lifted.
        • set for each side

COT:

  • Thankful for the new year, the new push, the great PAX we stand next to
  • Prayers for those dealing injury or illness
  • Prayers for those affected by COVID19’s most recent variance and the surges across the US
