The weather could not have been better than this morning. Arrived at The Bone Yard to meet up with brothers ready to feel some pain and feel accomplished. The theme for this beat down was historical in nature. On this day in 1968, the movie 2001 : A Space Odyssey was released. I remember watching this moving in school and thinking it was weird, but kinda cool. The goal this morning was to hit 2,001 reps before 6:15 a.m. Seven (7) other PAX arrived for the fun.
WARM-UP:
SSH x 10 IC
Tennessee Rocking Chairs x 10 IC
Frankensteins x 10 IC
Plank routine: Plank, Merkins x 10 OYO, Plank, Peter Parkers x 10 OYO, Plank holding nose to ground, half way up, back up and recover.
THE THANG:
Everyone grab your waters and head to the school parking lot. YHC knew if we had any chance to hit 2,001 reps we need to start quick and with the right mix of exercises. At the parking lot there are 9 speed bumps scattered around the loop with various distances in between. Start at the gate and mosey, at each speed bump perform the following:
SSH x 50
Mountain Climbers x 50 (easy)
Flutter Kicks x 50 (easy)
Squats x 25
Hillbillie x 25 (easy)
At each speed bump we would hit 200 reps x the 9 total = 1,800 reps. Mosey in between all speed bumps, pick up the 6 and finish together.
The lap around the lot left us with only 10 minutes to spare to squeeze in the final 201 reps. As a group we completed the following:
LBCs x 50
Heel Touches x 50 (easy)
Freddie Mercury x 50 (easy)
SSH x 25 IC (50 reps)
And 1 BURPEE to complete the round = 2,001 reps completed for all.
